EMI’s PD program is a unique reverse-distribution system designed to
provide our clients with an outlet for usable products that they might
otherwise send for disposal – products that are off-specification,
unused, outdated, distressed, damaged, or refused freight.
In 1976, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) was
enacted. Two of the main goals of RCRA and its amendments are to reduce
the amount of waste generated by utilizing as many items as possible
and to protect human health and the environment from the potential
hazards of waste disposal. EMI’s program is designed to provide
companies an alternative to disposal for their unwanted or unneeded
products by allowing them to transfer ownership of those products to
us. Once they arrive at our location, we inventory and verify the
products and place them into our program, where they are made available
to our extensive network of businesses, charities, and individuals who
are able to put these items to good use.
